The Latina Mami Los Angeles chapter holds platicas and legal clinics related to mamis who have children with disabilities. Each platics focuses on advocacy for a child with disabilities but groups are taken a step further and mamis are invited to bring their child’s specific issue to the group in order to receive collective support and strategies. Mamis are also paired with another mother for peer support.
